WMU’s Annual Food Marketing Conference Coming Up

By Rose Anthony

The food industry is confronted with a transformational revolution that will change business as we know it. Manufactures and retailers are dealing with shifting consumer buying patterns, disruptive business models, new marketplace dynamics and new sophisticated technology.

How can trading partners come to grips with these dramatic changes sweeping the industry?
Answers to that question and specific strategies will be presented March 26-27 at the annual Food Marketing Conference hosted by Western Michigan University (WMU) at Devos Place in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The 54th annual conference brings leading industry speakers to share their observations and thought leadership. Consultant Michael Sansolo will moderate an expert panel of industry executives who will examine the transformation of taking place within our industry and the disruptive forces that retailers and manufactures face.

The top two reasons attendees give for attending the conference are the high-quality educational content and the exceptional networking opportunities with industry partners.

Among the top-tier speakers will be Matt Thompson, Vice President, Digital Business at Kroger; Joe McQuesten, Senior VP Merchandising for SpartanNash; Wayne Duan, Vice President of eCommerce at Constellation Brands; Ashleigh Borchers, Customer Director Shopper Marketing and Stephen McGowan, Head of Shopper Marketing & Strategic Partnerships, both for Mondelēz International.

Other speakers will include:

  • Rich Arthur Sevilla, CPG Vertical Strategy Lead, Pinterest
  • Kurt Jetta, Executive Chairman, Founder and CEO, TABS Analytics
